Netgear DG834G v3 RT 2.9 install guide
Re: Netgear DG834G v3 RT 2.9 install guide
ok... i was wondering if i was doing something wrong. Now i know i've done it right!
Just in case : the marvel 88E6060 datasheet is here :
http://www.marvell.com/products/switchi ... asheet.pdf
there's some DNA restriction, but they explain quite well some VLAN near page 56 and above ...
Routertech is awesome with my DG834Gv3 ! (i'm going to buy a DG834v3/No Wireless as a spare)

Re: Netgear DG834G v3 RT 2.9 install guide
I have a question about replacing bootloader, can I use this guide viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3016 instead of using jtag ? I don't have LPT port on my PC, JTAG will by the last thing that I will do if everything else fails, but I know that v3 has larger ADAM2 partition than usual.

I already read above threads, so it is possible, nothing to loose so I'll try it as I have a second one fully working.
I'll post results after successful or faulty replacing bootloader.

My reference to the Netgear threads was meant to indicate that you should not try to use the procedure that I used for the DLink. Netgear is a different animal, and the DLink method will not work.

I was thinking about trying dg834v2 procedure and wrote Your link
Now I have working DG834G v3 with RouterTech firmware, unfortunately JTAG was required so I think that everyone who want to try flashing this router should have one already made and don't try different way of changing bootloader.

Congratulations!ScApi wrote:Now I have working DG834G v3 with RouterTech firmware
Yes, one should never fiddle with bootloaders without having a JTAG cable handy. However, I am sure that a procedure similar to the one I used with the V2 should be possible (perhaps with some adjustments). If/when I get a cheapie V3, I might give it a go and see how I get on.ScApi wrote:unfortunately JTAG was required so I think that everyone who want to try flashing this router should have one already made and don't try different way of changing bootloader.

By the way, here's the jtag buffered wiggler"cabling" schema with the TIAO universal jtag.
It works good with CICLaMaB software.
It works good with CICLaMaB software.
Code: Select all
white=TRST
red=TDI
blue=TDO
green=TMS
yelow=TCK
black=GND
pins on the dg834(G)v3 :
( )( )( )(GND )( )( )( )
[TRST](TDI )(TDO )(TMS )(TCK )( )( )

Anyone got a backup of the original adam 2 bootloader? I want to restore an old routertech router to default now I'm not using it anymore.
