It looks to me like it's another PC-tool, and I don't dare attempt a flash with that flaky ethernet switch (sometimes my computer detects a link, most of the times it doesn't)

TBH, I think you'll probably get another router cheaper on Ebay ...

They are very cheap on ebay. If you are patient enough, you will get one for £0.99 + £4.99 postage. See THIS for example.

Its a surface mount capacitor (given its got a part No Cnn), but you will have find an unburnt one to find out what value!

Its likely to be across pins that go to the switch chip which will contain hair-width gold wires - chances are the chip is damaged as well.
