That is not a 4mb-flash firmware. If it was, you would see "4mb-flash" in the version information.Firmware version information

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Hm, but I'm sure I put the 4mb firmware in my router. Today I repeated the process of flashing via Web GUI and nothing happened. A nice progressbar reached 100%, I rebooted the router and there was still the lite firmware. I'm sure I saw similar topic here on the forum, so after I manage to install the full 4mb firmware, I'll be back.

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Phew, it was one hell of a job. I tried flashing with the newest Router Repair Tool, it somehow trashed my mtd0 and mtd4 partitions. So I used this tool co calculate new values. It worked, I flashed a working firmware and modified the bootloader. I was successful only with PC-Tool 2.3, other tools either crashed or didn't work. So I now have a PSP bootloader 1.4.0.8. Thanks for your undying effort

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Congratulations! I am puzzled though, as to why you needed a tool to calculate the mtd values. They are already in the firmware distribution files (routertech_firmware_20100408_mtd_logs.zip).

Because I didn't want to put in the values by the hand, and Router Repair Tool was running, so I used itthechief wrote:Congratulations! Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Ok, so here is my successful experience with replacing the bootloader AND the firmware version of a bricked G604T v1:
I followed the first post of this thread as carefully as I could and was able to revive my ancient hardware which has served me well for many years once again.
I was previously running the ADAM2 version of Routertech wireless firmware v 2.91.1, but the modem started acting crazy for no reason, having trouble syncing tha ADSL line andaccepting wireless connections, so I decided it was time to take my chances... I used the second more recent version of bootloader image provided on the first page of this thread, and the corresponding PSP version of Routertech wireless firmware v 2.93 after the bootloader was replaced. For bootloader replacement I used the cat command and not the dd command. Everything was done via PcTool 2.4 on an Imac Core 2 Duo 2.0 running Windows XP Sp3 natively (BootCamp).
Since I'm a Mac user, NAT-PMP support is important to me. I have tried enabling it by setting
RT_cmd_1 to echo enable_natpmp=yes'>>/etc/upnpd.conf and have confirmed it was set by the systems diagnostics page. But I could not locate the familiar message indicating NAT-PMP support was enabled on the system log. Therefore I ask:
Is NAT-PMP still supported on PSP based v.2.93 of the firmware?
Thanks in advance to all.

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Congrats on the bootloader change
The nat-pmp should still work, but there is an extra "'" is your post, what does "getenv RT_cmd_1", or "cat /etc/upnpd.conf" report? The use of strong ' and weak " quotes in the setting of this var is important. If its wrong in the docs please advise exactly where...

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Thanks for your reply mstombs!
cat /etc/upnpd.conf output:
enable_natpmp=yes
deny 0-1024 0.0.0.0/0 0-1024
It looks ok to me... I suppose the extra ' was actually a cut and paste error in my previous messsage, right? Should have been
echo 'enable_natpmp=yes'>>/etc/upnpd.conf
but somehow I cut out the first ' character...
I followed instructions from upnp.txt in the documentation set.
If you would allow me: I suggest the contents of the upnp.txt file be reviewed to make all commands contain double > characteres, resulting in appending to the upnpd.conf file. As it stands now, some commands contain only one > character. If one was to use such syntax one would end up replacing the original contents (deny 0-1024 0.0.0.0/0 0-1024) of the upnpd.conf file with only the contents of the setenv command.
I'm sorry my knowledge does not allow me to understand exactly what would be the results of such replacement, but I thought it would be better to only add the desired command, not to replace the contents of the file.
Best regards,
Cesar/Brazil

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
The default low port numbers deny rule is added to the upnp.conf if there is no other one there, when upnp starts, so it should be OK, but you are correct only the first addition to the upnp conf file can use single ">". So does nat-pmp work from your mac? I have only tested from windoze or Linux, utorrent and skype can both use nat-pmp from these platforms.
Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Once again, thanks for your reply, time and experience sharing.
As far as I know, it appears to be working... Transmission and Back to My Mac report a green light, which seem to indicate that the required ports were opened on demand.
One other thing I noticed is that I cannot find a upnp.leases file on the var/tmp folder, as on my previous setup.
So, to tell you the truth, I'm not quite sure.

Re: Replacing Adam2 booloader with PSP bootloader
Hi,
My DSL-G604T V.A1 needs a new boot loader, PSP or Acorp or OpenWrt and descriptive information to connect a mini-232/USB on its logic board to upgrade it, using CLI.
I am running RT 2.94 without major problems, except for a fragile behavior when changing setup (Adam2 environment spoiling).
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Tiberio
