The PC-Tool etc on this site will only work with Routers that have Ti AR7 chipset and adam2/pspboot chipset. The internet seems to think that that TP-Link has Atheros chipset.
Re: Problem with TP-|LINK TL WR 542G
Yes, this router has Atheros chipset, exist some program for mentioned device?
Re: Problem with TP-|LINK TL WR 542G
I do not know of any 3rd party firmware for that router, but you may be able to repair the original firmware using access to the bootloader. Some Atheros devices such as La Fonera use a "redboot" bootloader, for which there is a sercomm tool which may be able to reload the original firmware, see these instructions for a very different device which also uses redboot

Re: Problem with TP-|LINK TL WR 542G
Can I connect with router via SJ1 port?
Re: Problem with TP-|LINK TL WR 542G
I connected to router via serial interface. This is all what I see in hyperterminal window, when I connect power suply to router:
AR2315 rev 0x00000090 startup...
Is any chance to repair router?

U can easily found the pin outs with digital multimeter.
1) with router turned off, set multimeter to "continuity check settings".touch any metal part(antenna) with black probe and simultameously use red probe, touch each off the pin, ushould hear a beep indicating continuity between that pin and the metal part(antenna)--- indicating that pin is ground.
2)with router turned on,set mutimeter to volatge setting above 3.3v but closer to 3.3v(usually10v or 20v depending upon the multimeter used.repeat the above steps and u will find 3.3v pin(shows up in the multimeter).
Find tx and rx requires a bit of moving cables between remaining two pins.
Guys correct me if im wrong.
Regards

PMs are not available to newly registered users as we've had a spate of spam PMs sent out recently and unlike public posts which can be actively moderated, we're unable to do so for PMs as they are private between members. As such PMs will only become available to users once they start posting to the forum.
