Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
i'm still noticing that after a fresh upgrade with default settings, the router seems to be maxing the cpu out trying to connect to internet with a default connection that obvously doesn't work. It takes several minutes to enter right ISP information and connect since routers cpu is so maxed out the router web interface is border unresponsive and takes forever to do anything. been happening since 2.93 on both Dlink G604T with psp bootloader and Solwise with 1350 chip. Goes away as soon as right ISP information is entered and it can actually connect. I don't know if it's stuck in endless loop with default settings or what but it's certainly troublesome.
Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
So can i connect to pptp based vpns through router now? If so, how?

Yes, it is trying to connect with default settings, and this will continue until the correct settings are entered. The problem disappears if the rj11 lead is only connected to the router after entering the correct ISP connection settings.mysticalos wrote:Goes away as soon as right ISP information is entered and it can actually connect. Hopefully, yes. And, hopefully, we have built all that is necessary to do this into the firmware.Kaan wrote:So can i connect to pptp based vpns through router now?
Dunno. You or someone else will just have to figure it out and tell the rest of us.Kaan wrote:If so, how?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
One more question, can openvpn on router act as a client?(i looked at the pdf but it only mentions about server) It seems to be easier to use it to connect to my vpn provider than pptp.
Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
Thanks for the update.
Question about block_rebind.sh. I've tried running it via autoexec.sh, RT_cmd_1, and RT_init_1, but for whatever reason, it never runs those ways. The rt_commands.html document mentions that only a subset of scripts can be run at startup, so is this not one of them? It isn't listed as one of them, but it's not listed higher up in the overall list of scripts either.

Code: Select all
setenv autoexec.sh /usr/local/bin/block_rebind.sh

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
Assuming that the log file is that of your client:Pavel81 wrote:Config in the included file. Please help me.
1) Your config file contains "dev tun" instead of "dev tap"
2) Your config file doesn't contains "ns-cert-type server"
3) For client configuration problems you should visit "http://www.openvpn.net". I think this is not the right forum to provide information on OpenVPN problems itself, but for OpenVPN on the router.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
That shouldn't be a problem. I know that it is possible with a FritzBox, a very common modem in Germany. But because we tried to make OpenVPN on this firmware as easy as possible for the user we provided only config files for the "modem as a server" scenario. To make it work to act as a client you need to modify the .ovpn configuration files on your own.Kaan wrote:One more question, can openvpn on router act as a client?(i looked at the pdf but it only mentions about server) It seems to be easier to use it to connect to my vpn provider than pptp.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.94 Discussion
To be honest, and as TafnaSM has indicated, we've only been concerned with the server side of things on the router. We can answer questions about the server side, since that is what we aim to support - hence the helper scripts that we have included. As for OpenVPN as a client on the router, I doubt I can be of much use there. It would be better to go to the OpenVPN forums.Pavel81 wrote:Try to run OpenVPN client
