If the Lite version works for you, then there is no reason to change it just because of this cosmetic issue. The full version has dsp7.5, and so may not have that issue - but the trade-off is free memory. I don't think that the cosmetic problem is worth the memory trade-off.der_Kief wrote:This a Sphairon AR860 -> http://www.sphairon.com/en/products/ads ... ar860.html
And yes i'm running routertech-ar7rd-lite-1port-firmware-20110103 / pspboot on it. Should i try the regular version for 1-port routers ?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
For sure that routertech-ar7rd-pspboot-1port-firmware-20110103 has dsp7.5 drivers as default for 2MB non wireless flash devices such as the AR860 ?
In the past (when there was no light version) i have used the full version without any problems. Maybe because i used the AR860 only as a modem.

That should be ok. But you will notice the impact of the memory overhead when you try to use the web interface.der_Kief wrote:In the past (when there was no light version) i have used the full version without any problems. Maybe because i used the AR860 only as a modem.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
FYI
I just installed routertech-ar7rd-pspboot-1port-firmware-20110103 on my AR860 and no problems at all.
Now Path Mode is displayed correctly as Fastpath. So as already assumed the bug with the "Lite" version
is about the tiatm driver.
This is from the RSL system log:

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
Is there any difference in connection speed?

Its about the same.thechief wrote:Is there any difference in connection speed?
But theres no advantage to use the lite versiona at least for me. But maybe thats because i use it only as a modem !

PS: Any tweaks to reduce memory consumption ?

Is it possible to view/edit the freememory.sh script and if yes which tool to use ? I didn't found an editor like nano or vi.
I ask because the freememory.sh script also disables the http server which i dont want to be disabled.

The filesystem is read-only, so you can't edit it. Why not just start the http server again?
PS: you can view it of course (use the "cat" command).
Code: Select all
start_httpd.sh

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
How long is a piece of string? Some errors are inevitable, more error correction possible with interleaved - "FEC" is I believe a corrected error. At some point the drivers give up and resync, the latest drivers if supported by your ISP may be able to dynamically rate-adjust - which I guess means they stop using 'frequency bins' with high error rates. With noise below this threshold the CRC count may help you to optimize router cabling/location to minimize - burst of errors are common. Have you tried the "RouterStatsLogger" and seen the graphs which may give a clue as to noise sources?der_Kief wrote:btw.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
I know its difficult to answer this but i thought maybe there is a clue in what range errors are normal respectively acceptable.
Maybe i forgot to say that i'm not affected by errors this is only out of curiosity.
der_Kief
Do you mean "Seamless Rate Adaption" ? This is not supported by my ISPmstombs wrote:....the latest drivers if supported by your ISP may be able to dynamically rate-adjust...
No abnormality here.mstombs wrote:...Have you tried the "RouterStatsLogger" and seen the graphs which may give a clue as to noise sources?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
does routertech support vdsl= ITU G.993.1 or even vdsl2 ITU G.993.2
I see it in the modem tab category. Does the TI chipset support the protocol.
My telephone exchange is due to be upgraded to vdsl for BT infiinity. I really want to keep routertech modem I have
any ideas guys ?
