history.html for firmware v2.93 wrote: 12. Following a poll in the forum, darkstat has been removed from the wireless firmwares. For the few who really need it, a copy will be available for download from the repository (which can then be run from a minix or smbfs mountpoint or from the /var/ directory - and see the fetch_ds script below). The facility to view the darkstat statistics from the web interface is retained for such people. Where it is retained, darkstat has been upgraded to v3.0.713.
13. New script "fetch_ds" - this script will fetch darkstat from the repository, extract, and run it. It can either the run manually, or via autoexec.sh.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
Hi,
I have new problem ....
Just got DSL-302T.
Router was fine.
First tried to upgrade via WWW ....but got error : No/invalid magic number.
Tested telnet connection - it workded fine.
So i thought i should do this by RRT software ( v.1.0.8 ).
Strange thing ... after few attempts routertech uploaded (uploading status) new firmware till 12% ... then modem rebooted.
After that there is only POWER led turned on.
Nothing more ... DHCP doesnt work, cant even ping 192.168.1.1 (router IP) with my static IP (192.168.1.100).
Tried again RRT software ...but situation looks the same...it goes to 12% and then router reboot.
Dont know what to do now ...
Please help me ...

Flashed v2.9.5. to my Safecom SART-4115 router successfully via web interface. Thank you. Syncs quite well with BeThere ISP, although slightly lower than the BeBox, but router now makes an excellent backup device.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
Why? We've never heard of any 1350A wireless router with Adam2.wlkn wrote:Could you please add support for ROHS-ADAM2-based (AR7WRD) – with TNETW1350A wireless chip

Come to think of it - is the WAG200G an Adam2-based router? If so, what is the layout of the mtd partitions? And who manufactures the flash chip?

Please see http://openwag200.sourceforge.net/?p=hardware for the layout.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
Ok. Having read the stuff in the link you've provided, there are two problems with trying to support such a router:
1. The mtd partitions are all over the place, and are nothing like the layout of any router that we support. Trying to flash a RouterTech firmware onto such a product would be fraught with danger, would be extremely fiddly, and would have the probability of horrendous support issues;
2. We don't have a sample of this router. This is not normally a problem if (a) the flash layout is "standard", and (b) there is someone who is willing to be an official tester (and to risk his router being bricked several times) - but that is not the case here.
Conclusion: these two problems combined together means that this idea is a non-starter (even assuming that our 1350A sources, which are totally pspboot oriented, could be safely compiled for Adam2 in the first place).

I smell a spammer...
Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
I'm NOT spammer!
I wrote because chief may be interested to buy one or a WAG200G user can donate one to RouterTech team for new firmware support.
He is the cheapest seller I could find on eBay, I needed second unit for testing (couldnt test anymore on my production router because JTAG recovery takes a day) and I bought one from him.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
I found this in the syslog:
Mar 9 10:06:25 | setenv: RouterTech: defragmenting the bootloader environment
and WAN Uptime was 7hr 13min 0sec.
This modem is subject to often and unexpected power cycling. I am concerned that a power cycle will occur when the firmware is defragmenting the environment, which will result in disaster for the modem. Is there a way to prevent automatic defragmentation of the environment ?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
There is no automatic defragmentation except as part of the firmware upgrade process. So if you see that message in your log, it is because you have told the firmware to do so.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
I have never manually tried to defrag any unit, ever. But I had loaded memchk.sh at that time. Will that cause an auto-defrag?
