Well, it should work. However, I would check the mtd values and compare them with the mtd logs in v2.95. You need to have the correct settings for the mtd partitions. And you can try upgrading with the pctool. But it seems that there might be a fundamental problem. Without seeing the system diagnostics, I can't comment on that.benobi wrote:tried all...

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
Same thing with my D-link DSL-584T.
Upgraded it via "PC-Tool" without problem.
Chief was quicker.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
There are a number of problems here:
1. You have one of those troublesome "unknown" Intel flash chips. Nothing can be done about that. But when the chip plays up, you have your work cut out.
2. The environment is fragmented. You need to defragment it
3. The mtd partitions (mtd0 and mtd1) sizes are not correct for v2.95, so you need to correct them (you can do this with the pctool).
Conclusion: upgrading requires using the pctool.

@benobi
You do not appear to have mtd4 defined - so no chance of web upgrade, it must have been defined in past and deleted?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
Well spotted! And no chance of any other kind of upgrade for that matter. mtd1 is set up for single-image upgrades, yet there is no mtd4. So you can't do a single-image upgrade, and you can't do a separate-images upgrade either.mstombs wrote:You do not appear to have mtd4 defined - so no chance of web upgrade
You first need to do this from telnet
Code: Select all
setenv mtd4 0x90010000,0x901f0000

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
I'm still confused about the mtd dimensions.
Mine are now:
mtd0 0x90090000,0x903f0000
mtd1 0x90010090,0x90090000
mtd2 0x90000000,0x90010000
mtd3 0x903f0000,0x90400000
mtd4 0x90010000,0x903f0000
And I was able to flash from 2.94 to 2.95 via web gui. Are they correct?
EDIT:

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
I just noticed that on PLUSCOM AWR-7200, on the LAN Configuration page the 3 Ethernet interfaces appear as SSID1, SSID2, SSID3.
I do not know if this is normal or not, i just want to report it just in case.

If it is all working, then why are you worrying? If anything is not correct, you can be sure that Adam2 will let you know all about it.felixmarra wrote:I'm still confused about the mtd dimensions.

It is normal. In theory, you can have multiple SSIDs. Whether it works in practice is another thing. I have never tried it, and don't intend to.yiannis.zip wrote:I just noticed that on PLUSCOM AWR-7200, on the LAN Configuration page the 3 Ethernet interfaces appear as SSID1, SSID2, SSID3.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.95 Discussion
just because i saw different values (even now u wrote a different value for mt4) and I was wondering why and which one is correct. I had a strange error connecting to the bootloader with CICLaMaB (something about memory setted up less than available) and after returning to original dlink firmware and then to 2.94 with tiupgrade that error disappeared.thechief wrote:If it is all working, then why are you worrying? Maybe it was something about a wrong mtd partition?

Shouldn't there also exist Ethernet2,Ethernet3 and Ethernet4?thechief wrote:It is normal. In theory, you can have multiple SSIDs. Whether it works in practice is another thing. You first need to do this from telnetThen you might be able to upgrade.Code: Select all
setenv mtd4 0x90010000,0x901f0000
Ill tell you what i did.
First (thanks for good advice) i logged in via telnet to 192.168.1.1 (root/Admin) and put :
'setenv mtd4 0x90010000,0x901f0000'
After that put command :
'setenv DEFRAG DEFRAG'
All seemed to be fine...
So i decided to upgrade via WWW
Upgrade process was fine ...but after that ....
I couldnt log in to my router (DSL-300T).
Only power led was turned on. Nothing more.
DHCP was not working....i set static IP (192.168.1.100) on laptop and tried to ping 192.168.1.1.
It was impossible. Reset button (on the router) didnt work.
It was horrible.... i thought my router gone
But....before i made this upgrade i downloaded RRT software.
After few hrs i tried RRT....
It was good move. I did it via RRT software.
Now i have 2.95 version installed.
All is fine.
Thank you very much for help !!!
Regards,
Benobi
