Hi
wlkn, I appreiciate your oppinion and worries about newbie users but just deleting the whole webpage was imo a silly decision. Now, my situation is simple - wayback machines(so widely mentioned before by mistombs) does not work for main homepage(probably forbidden by robots.txt). My second partition failed(and linux VM lost) - I need information about openwag crosscompiling, whole environment configuration etc etc. Could you share the old website with me(us?). ZIP files of all subpages will be enough.

There is absolutely no support in the RouterTech forum for building firmwares from source, so PLEASE do NOT ask questions about it on the forum. If you trash your router, you are on your own.

PLEASE do NOT ask any questions about this on the forum (or via PM/E-Mail), and PLEASE do NOT ask about development tools, cross-compilers, etc.

I'm currently working on releasing new update for OpenWag200G.
I've already modernized most of the web interface, blocked TCP-32764 backdoor and removed some sketchy/not needed binaries.

So, i'm looking for people willing to test new UI for bugs, and provide feedback on design.
Project website: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wag200/

Sorry for advertising, but deleted openwag200g project redirects here,
so this looks like one of the best places for resurrection.

Ps. If someone has a copy of old openwag200g website, or 1.6 firmware files I'd love to see them. :)

The old openwag200g website with final 1.4 release is still available

But all use at your own risk etc!

Unfortunately, that's not the whole project - 1.5 beta is missing,
and so are releases earlier than 1.4, there is no copy of the old website,
which contained a lot of useful info.

1. on PSPboot prompt: (you should also be able to setenv on telnet/SSH)

setenv mtd5 0x90000000,0x90400000

2. restart the router [this will apply the new mtd5 partition setting]

3. Download wholeflash.bin to your router's /var directory.

4. disconnect internet and execute:

dd if=wholeflash.bin of=/dev/mtdblock/5

5. wait some minutes, when it completes power off/on the router

6. upgrade to latest version of OpenWAG200/Linksys using WebGUI
That worked for me. I switched back to openwag200 to test something, but haven't tested that yet.

Sorry, I am not able to maintain/publish OpenWAG firmware anymore.

All drivers and most of executables were binary-only and closed-source.

I was not able to fix the serious security issue, and I can not distribute something clearly unsecure.

But files are still available on http://sourceforge.net/projects/wag200/ ... rmwareSRC/

If you want to try unsecure firmware, use only at your own risk. we take no responsibility.

flashimages are wholeflash.bin, just unzip the archive first, you will get 4mb wholeflash.bin

Hi. I made a jtag cable and I cannot flash openwag200/linksys firmware to my openwag200.
Jtag is connected properly and it does backup of wholeflash, but when i try to flash it just stuck at first block and nothing happens. I cannot erase flash too.
What I am doing wrong? Should I change values of mtd?
Also I tried this guide:

Code: Select all

1. on PSPboot prompt: (you should also be able to setenv on telnet/SSH)

setenv mtd5 0x90000000,0x90400000

2. restart the router to apply partition setting

3. Download wholeflash.bin to your router's /var directory.

4. disconnect internet and execute:

dd if=wholeflash.bin of=/dev/mtdblock/5

5. wait some minutes, when it completes power off/on the router

6. upgrade to latest version of OpenWAG200/Linksys using WebGUI
but there isn't mtdblock/5. Do I have to connect via serial to write to this partition?

If you are flashing a wag200g with Linksys bootloader there are no known bootloader access commands, you have to flash the whole flash chip, yes it will take hours.

Why do you need to reflash all? Do you have serial console access?

Hi guys!
Straight to the point, i am doing everything fine and on step 11 i upload the firmware with pctool and when it shows "Download complete" pctool freezes and shuts down, i can reboot the router and re do it but no luck. It always stops at download complete (transfer complete).

Am i missing something?
