For the speed issue: I tried with a Fonera with DD-WRT over my d-link with routertech.

Same file, same "from" and same "to" computers.

Using the Fonera wifi I get 2MB/sec, passing to RT (with the file still copying) 512-712KB/sec, reverse to FONERA again 2MB/sec. I underline again that I didn't close the file transfer, i'm changing the wifi link "on the fly" and the transfer is not paused or restarted (I use TeraCopy).

I have 3 wifi SSID: Routertech (channel 1), Fonera for this test (channel 11) and another fonera in the upper part or my house (channel 6), so there is no overlapping.

Any idea?

It simply changes the SIP conntrack timeout values.

Ok! I add that I reset again to factory defaults and now it is even worst: 256KB/sec maximum :damnall: :curse:

There is nothing from the diagnostics that should obviously cause this problem. So my guess is that either your wifi card is dying, or you have congestion on the channel you are using. Try other channels 1, 6, or 11. You might also want to read this:

wifi card into the router? I have another d-link with problem to capacitors, i can swap them and give a try.
Do u know how to remove the card? I tried time ago when I opened the broken one without success...
or you have congestion on the channel you are using
Impossible, I live in a villa, noone is around me and I can confirm using inSSIDer, my wifi links are alone and without overlapping each other.

Anyway, how can u explain that with previous RT firmware I didn't notice it? In fact my transfers were faster...

Yes.

No, I haven't tried it. But it doesn't look easy to remove.

Ok.

I can't explain anything. I don't have your router in front of me. All I can do is guess. And I can guess that the fact that you didn't notice any problem with previous RT firmwares is meaningless if you are getting hardware failure.

I installed winxp 32bit, reverted to original d-link firmware with tiupgrade.

Let me configure the AP as it was in the RT and i'll try again with the same transfer. I'll let u know.

So, it is not an hardware failure at all.

With the d-link firmware I'm doing the same file move and the speed is 2,8MB/sec !!!

Same configuration: no security but access controll via mac address, channel 1.

712KB/sec (max 1MB/sec) with RT and 2,8MB/sec with d-link firmware.

I don't know what to say, but it is clear that there is something wrong in RT firmware :(

I'll try with tiupgrade to return to 2.96, maybe something wrong with several update via web gui (I used web gui since 2.91.1).

Sorry for posting again...

I did all my investigations and I'm a bit shocked:

d-link original firmware, DSP 7.0 = DSL Speed 639/8139kbps (SNR 9dB) fast path, transfer speed from the AP 3 MB/sec maximum.

RT 2.95 and 2.96, DSP 7.0A = DSL 639/7243kbps (SNR 12dB) Interleaved (my line is fast path), transfer speed from the AP 1 MB/sec maximum

RT 2.95 and 2.96, DSP 7.5A = DSL 639/7184kbps (SNR 12dB) fast path, transfer speed from the AP 1 MB/sec maximum

d-link firmware version Dlink_3.10B01T02.EU.20090512 for G-624T

I don't know what to say :( :?
