Not that I am aware of, but nothing is impossible under the sun. FWIW, I run three 1350A firmwares 24/7 (one DLink 2640T and two Linksys WAG200G), and have done so for longer than I care to remember. I have never come across this. So, the finger would point to either the router's hardware itself, or something dodgy going on at the ISP end, or a combination of both.mysticalos wrote:Is this some kind of termination bug in the firmware?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
I have to repeat my request for improvement of the firmware. It is not stable. I occasionally pressed "defragmentation" when router was being used and it hanged (freezed). There are processes in the firmware, when it is vital important to close all incoming commands. As I have noticed, the same is in other routers (dlink), when router doesn`t answer for requests during some processes of booting and other.
Now I have to think, whether I can open router`s page or not, whether I can use internet or I have to wait to avoid router being hanged.

You have the source code. Feel free to patch it to do what you want it to do, then send us the patches, and we will consider incorporating them into our code.

light version of firmware seems to be much too heavy for my asus aam6020bi-t4. It can work for four days (24 hours) and after that period it hangs in one of the event (when i open web-interface or press to optimize ram). Is it possible to make less light version?

I would like to know how exactly you are using it. 8mb ram is very tight - but it should still be enough.Weather wrote:light version of firmware seems to be much too heavy for my asus aam6020bi-t4.

To be honest, optimize ram is of very little benefit. The linux memory manager is good enough to not need any assistance.Weather wrote:and after that period it hangs in one of the event (when i open web-interface or press to optimize ram).
What would you like to see removed?Weather wrote:Is it possible to make less light version?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
Still getting oddness where it gets hung up trying to initialize a device already in use, in this log, it actually resets conection per check margins script, it GETS a new connection, but then keeps trying anyways, resulting in an indefinite loop that just sat the router at 100% cpu until i rebooted it.
Btw isn't script supposed to reboot router for margin, not just hang up and reconnect (cause that's not going to fix a margin)? Could have sworn with Dlink router before it died, when it was below margins it'd reboot to get em back up to 13 down 19 up.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
Routertech firmware has nsp version 3.6.0D while my old dlink router GLb 502t had 3.7.0D.But it had older ATM,DSP and DSL drivers. What difference does it make?
Also i found 3.7.1B GPL sources here http://mcmcc.bat.ru/acorp/gpl_source/.Can it be ported to routertech?
Another Q:
Can Routertech source code be uploaded to sites like Github,SourceForge to aid better developement??

Later drivers tend to be more robust, and to support more modern dslam features.ajiteshm wrote:Routertech firmware has nsp version 3.6.0D while my old dlink router GLb 502t had 3.7.0D.But it had older ATM,DSP and DSL drivers. What difference does it make?
It already has. It is called "1350A wireless firmwares".ajiteshm wrote:Also i found 3.7.1B GPL sources here http://mcmcc.bat.ru/acorp/gpl_source/.Can it be ported to routertech?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
What about rest of it though? This solwise is nothing but problems on routertech firmware. I also can't imagine it's a bad unit, it was bought brand new and barely has any usage on it until lately. but it has a whole list of problemsthechief wrote:Code: Select all
chkmargins --help
1. It automatically resets connection any time upload bandwidth is maxed for more then 30 seconds. No explanation, just flat out hangs up and reconnects, destroying any possibility of ever using connection to upload anything.
2. If remote host has an unexpected disconnect, it's about 50/50 going to need a reboot to work right again without rebooting.May 29 07:44:29 root: ip-down miniupnpcmd.sh remove divert
May 29 07:44:29 root: miniupnpcmd.sh: divert removed

May 29 07:44:37 cfgmgr(pppoa-109): PPPD Successfully Started
May 29 07:44:37 pppd[7309]: PAP authentication succeeded
3. Sometimes on reconnect it doesn't realize it has reconnected and instead keeps trying, indefinitely, noting that the device is already in use (duh, it connected on first attempt and didn't realize it).
4. It's almost always low on memory, like 300kish. Despite everything i've disabled. this could possibly be attributing somewhat to the other 3 problems? I set time with cron, wireless is completely disabled, usb is disabled, heck just about everything is disabled, the only feature that's enabled is cron and upnp. It's got just as much ram as dlink had, but the dlink always had like 2 megs free. Anything special on why the solwise uses so much more memory to do same thing across board? Is it from the QoS that's always on that i can't seem to find any options to disable? Seems the firmware is filled with a lot of useless bloat that cannot be disabled like all the custom QoS stuff.
Dlinks are more and more difficult to find, and even if I do it's probably used and has unknown life left in it. I'd like to make this pretty recent solwise to work right if these kinks can just be worked out. I'll do whatever tests you want. Give you a break down of all my settings, etc.

What version of the Solwise do you have? You may want to post the system diagnostics.

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
Later drivers tend to be more robust, and to support more modern dslam features.thechief wrote:ajiteshm wrote:Routertech firmware has nsp version 3.6.0D while my old dlink router GLb 502t had 3.7.0D.But it had older ATM,DSP and DSL drivers. What difference does it make?
I understand newer drivers provide better stability but what are the benefits of newer NSP version??

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
In which case low memory is not your problem - the 16mb RAM is more than enough (and, BTW, memchk would be largely redundant). Have a look at your modulation. You should set it to multi_mode. If you are going to select a modulation manually, I would for adsl_g.dmt. But multi_mode is a better bet.mysticalos wrote:router-info --router="Solwise/SAR-605EW"
Yes.mysticalos wrote:strange, that's showin a lot more free memory then usual. also i guess inactive memory is still free memory?

Re: RouterTech Firmware 2.97 Discussion
multi mode or anything other then adsl2 has poorer connection stability. This is cause my ISP is dumb and pretty much strict enforce adsl2+ (they think it's magic or something, if you use anything other then that you will literally drop connection at an almost hourly rate, god knows why). Their custom brand/firmware modems in fact ship with factory firmware that forces adsl2 on pretty much all connection speeds, regardless off how senseless it is for a 1.5 or 3m connection.
