Bricked dsl-g624t?

Post by zigi » Sat Apr 13, 2013 11:36 pm

Hi,

i'm looking for help with my (my friend actually) d-link router/modem as i mentioned in subject. My friend gave me this for repair. First i connect serial console to inspect what's wrong. I have something like this on my terminal after power on router:
ADAM2 Revision 0.22.02_b03_Mar 9 2005
(C) Copyright 1996-2003 Texas Instruments Inc. All Rights Reserved.
(C) Copyright 2003 Telogy Networks, Inc.
Usage: setmfreq [-d] [-s sys_freq, in MHz] [cpu_freq, in MHz]
Memory optimization Complete!

Adam2_AR7DB >
...and nothing more. I have tried to put some adam2 command but i didn't get any response.
Should I use JTAG to put adam2/pspboot in mtd0 or this router is brick definitely?

In general if you have Adam2 prompt and serial access, your router is alive and you don't need JTAG. Adam2 has also an embedded ftp server which allows, in the worst case scenario, to load a firmware (ie. routertech or openwrt).
The strange thing is that id doesn't boot anything so far:
- You should be able to tell Adam2 to try and boot the firmware by entering "boot" or "go" command, what happens if you do so?
- what is the output of "printenv" command at Adam2 prompt?

cheers
Running D-Link DSL-G624T, PSP bootloader in place of the original Adam2, RouterTech Firmware v2.97. OpenVPN and port knocking services activated.
