This is exactly what I was referring to earlier. This router does not have an Adam2 bootloader. It has a PSP bootloader, as the environment posted by seaeagle clearly demonstrates. Not only that, it also has a TNETW1350A wireless chip, as the WLAN_EEPROM variables show.

So ellellell1, you have been flashing the wrong firmware. By now, your environment would have been well and truly trashed. However, the PSP bootloader will normally generate a functional environment that will allow you to flash a firmware via ftp or PCTool or similar tools. The offsets will probably be all wrong. So, try to reproduce the environment posted by seaeagle, and flash the firmware that he has got. It may well be that the RouterTech 1350A wireless firmwares will also work. But even if you manage to boot up the router, you will have your work cut out to restore the wireless functionality.

Hi there, its just a version below that:

Firmware V3.02B01T01.AU-A.20080827 via using the EXE file and the tiupgrade
From what I know I can also upload the Firmware V3.02B01T01.AU.20091223 (WEB File) using PC Tool v2.3

I think its pretty clear that it is slightly more a bigger problem then trying to unbrick the router and I am not really to interested into fixing the hardware itself, as originally I thought it could be solved by using an Ethernet cable and a couple of router tools.

I guess it looks as through its pretty much had it, unless there could be someway of fixing the enviroment etc without directly having to touch its hardware. But thanks to everyone who has helped so far as I had no idea how much work goes into making/fixing a router!

Ah great, I see what you mean. Now I have trashed it...
I can now get the enviroment from rrt but I can no longer upload firmware using rrt...
Is there a similar tool to PC Tool I can use that doesn't use a Adam2 bootloader?

That previous environment was from some other firmware but now I have flashed the suggested firmware which I had to use from here:
http://support.dlink.com.au/download/do ... 504T-GenII (I couldn't find a version for the G604T)

I read this enviroment from the psp bootloader since enviroment directly doesn't work and the same results came out on the env with this firmware.

I think my main problem is I am not experienced enough in this area to be able to fix this router and I am not very familiar with working my way around these tools. It still doesn't seem to be booting up properly with either firmware and RRT won't let me upload any firmware only PC Tool v2.3.

Is it possible to walk me through a process of what I need to check to see if I can get this router going or on a live chat?

1. Read the 3 links listed in number 2 here: viewtopic.php?t=961

2. The Firmware Tool will be able to generate a default psp boot environment for RouterTech firmware v2.97. Click on the "135A wireless" tab, and copy the default environment to a text file. Run that text file as a script with the PCTool, and then immediately flash RouterTech firmware in the same PCTool session (you need v2.97 for the 4 port 1350A wireless pspboot). This should allow the router to boot. Whether the wireless chip will work is another matter. This might require herculean efforts to get working, if it ever works.

3. If you want to play really safe and only want the router to boot, and don't care about wireless, then you can try flashing the non-wireless for pspboot, 4 ports (routertech-ar7rd-pspboot-4ports-firmware) or the pspboot 4-port standard wireless (routertech-ar7wrd-pspboot-firmware-4ports). Note that you first have to unzip the relevant routertech firmware zip file, because you can only flash the .img files inside them.

4. Also, with regard to the instructions in #2 above, you need to generate the default environment for the firmware you want to flash before running it as a script with the PCTool. If the mtd settings are not correct, the router may not boot.

5. Furthermore, you should be using PCtool v2.4.

Good luck!

You seem to be doing ok, I am not sure why you got stuck with the download, here is the link to the same support area but for the G604T:

http://support.dlink.com.au/Download/do ... e=Firmware

The 504 is probably not far off but, just in case.

I would love to see you succeed so that when I again can spare my G604T I am going to see if I can install the RouterTec firmware. :D

Do you mean the 1350A tab? There is no 135A tab, also would I have to enter the MAC address on the bottom of my router and how would I find my TNETW ID? Or would I leave the default values as they are?

Thanks for laying out the steps in your previous post too! :)

Yep I got that link, what I meant is its not the exact firmware version you had for the D-Link G604T
Firmware Version : V3.02B01T01.AU.20090415

The latest one was " " " " " .20091223

I tried flashing both 2.97 router tech firmwares both wireless and non-wireless and both didn't seem to boot the router. Unless I am mistaken, but the router lights were the same (no status but still on power and wlan).

I also noticed an error while running the script file, setting the env value WLAN_EEPROM0 but I'm not sure if this matters.

Could it be that the router has a new ip address assigned?
Also what would be the safest way to reboot the router after it has finished flashing? (e.g using the reset button, turning the power of an on etc...)

PC tool v2.4 still uploads the firmware fine so I take it that the bootloader is still intact.

BTW I don't seem to be able to get the MAC Address and TNETW ID from my router (I suppose this is because my router is bricked)

Thanks again for the help so far guys, I feel we are hopefully near the end. I am not to fussed about getting the wireless to work (although it would be nice) It just needs to boot.

About the firmware, yes you are right I am still running the one listed earlier, I had just downloaded the latest wanting to test update but decided that since it was my last wireless router I would wait until I get another one as backup before updating with the file I have stored.

I am following you with interest, keep at it :D

Regarding the IP of the router, now you have flashed firmware, can you read the env that should be able to show you the IP, as I understand it. :D

I could be looking to have a candidate for routertech experiment as I think I bricked my D-Link DLS G604T by holding the reset for too long. Well after attempting to reset factory defaults, the LED lights behave perfectly but I can no longer make contact with the router via ethernet. I had just recovered from bad line performance and feeling happy when this happened, puts a damper on the day's experiences. :)

Ah I see :) . Still not much luck here. I really need mine to show the status led blinking, so I can flash. I guess it might of had it with trying to force it using the Adam2 :shakehead: when it was really a psp.
