Connection problem with NEWLINK Wireless ADSL2/2+ Router

Post by gerbill » Mon Mar 31, 2008 12:58 pm

The ADSL light on the modem keeps on flashing and then going out.

Details from the Router Log:-

DSL Carrier is training

PPPoA launch delay.
DSL out of sync
DSL Carrier is down
PPPoA Launch after conn delay timeout ...
pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
Default Asymmetric MTU for ppp0 1500
Connect: ppp0 {--}
PPPD Successfully Started
LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Connection terminated.

Details from Modem Status:-

CRC Rx Fast 0
CRC Tx Fast 0
CRC Rx Interleaved 0
CRC Tx Interleaved 0
Path Mode Fast Path
DSL Statistics

Near End F5 Loop Back Count 0

However, I am able to connect with a Speedtouch 330 USB modem.
The margin info with this is:-
DSLUptime 331
ErrorredSeconds 2
LossOfFraming 2
LossOfLink 0
LossOfSignal 2
PhysicalLinkStatus Up
ReceiveAttenuation_dB 34
ReceiveMargin_dB 31
RxOutputPower_dBm 0
SendAttenuation_dB 20
SendMargin_dB 31

I have tried plugging the NEWLINK directly into the master socket and get the same repeating ADSL light flashing then going out.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Looks like the wrong modulation type has be set, Try it set to "multi mode".
May be a better setting but depends on which country, who the ISP is and what speed broadband you have.

It is set to multi mode.
I have seen various different trained modes in the Modem Status screen (GLite, Gdmt) - I assumed this was just because it was trying all the different modes available?
