How NAT works (newbies film)

Post by Kieran » Fri Aug 04, 2006 7:03 pm

A friend recently sent me a link to a film that explains to newbies how a basic NAT works. It is branded for DrayTek but provides ample explantion about how the NAT in all routers work. As its really useful I'm posting it here as a sticky :)

N.B. The movie is 32MB in size for those with download or speed restrictions.

dialup.... haha, dialup is like queuing at the bar for an hour only to be told there aren't any drinks left when you get to the front. THEN being punched in the face.

The link now is broken! However, this may resolve my previous question should the link return. Other than switching NAT on or off is there any other control I have?

I've updated the above thread with a working link. I'll be adding the file directly to RouterTech soon so the speeds will improve.
