The computer it's starting from sleep

Post by steako » Sat Aug 18, 2012 1:58 pm

Hello,

After an upgrade to 2.97 version when I put the computer to sleep it is restarting automatically after a while(maybe ~30 sec, I didn't measured, probably it is random) :( . If I pull out the ethernet cable from modem, the probleme doesn't persist. What it's going wrong? With the previous firmware all it's OK.

Thanks.

Something is waking up your PC via the LAN. This is nothing to do with the firmware - rather, you need to check the wake on lan settings on your PC's network cards.

I have resolved the problem by deactivating the "Wake on pattern match" option of the network card.
However in the past with this option enabled I didn't had this problem.

I don't understand, if something is waking the PC via the LAN then why without the ethernet cable connected to the modem the PC isn't waked :? .

Because it is not receiving any network traffic. Surely that should be obvious?
