No worries. The feature has now made it into the RT v2.1 firmware. Release is imminent. Watch the announcements!

Is it a big issue to have two versions, one with/ one without?
Personally I have no use for it now, but was useful with an old machine I was repairing for someone, as it had no network card.

He ached all over. It wasn't just that his brain was writing cheques that his body couldn't cash. It had gone beyond that. Now his feet were borrowing money that his legs hadn't got, and his back muscles were looking for loose change under the sofa cushions.

It would be a big pain to release two versions on account of USB. We are already supporting different kinds of routers, with different bootloaders. There would be far too many firmware versions. USB support is easy enough to disable - and disabling it would only free up about 60kb of RAM anyway.

As thechief says, the next release will have USB support and it can be disabled using the command line if required. This poll and discussion is thus closed.

60kb of ram; That doesnt seem alot, but then how much space does a 'mature' NAT table take, and a few logs. I guess it makes a difference to those who know how to use it.
I don't mean to be impatient, how long will the new release be? I'm really looking forward to changing the firmware So then I can be a true converted RT

Too late it's already been released.
But don't tell anyone, especially that trouble maker studioeng.

Biro, that's the nicest thing you've ever said 'trouble maker' There's plenty more where that came from (well for AT and SC anyway).biro wrote: Version 2.1 will be released in the next few days or week
