QoS on custom firmware

Talk about anything you like here: as long as it's technical, doesn't fit into the other categories and is within the rules. Questions and discussions about operating systems, programming, websites, hosting, ADSL etc. are particularly welcome here.

QoS on custom firmware

Post by batnomercy » Wed Feb 27, 2013 5:38 am

Hi everyone,

I am trying to set up a QoS service on my SAGEM F@ST2504N router. My flatmate just can't resist from using the ethernet cable at all times and he is very fond of keeping his uTorrent ratios high, resulting in me and the third flatmate being unable to use the wireless connection at all.

I found this custom firmware on the internet, because the original router was locked.
Custom Sagemcom F@ST 2504N Firmware - pH-Mb

I am not unfamiliar to basic IT, but the complexity of the jargon on the quality of service page makes me unable to do anything. I am not sure what a DSCP mark is, or how to set up the required rules to make this work, what interfaces to use, Ether types, and so on. I can post screenshots of the firmware, is anyone willing to help me out?

Thank you very much in advance,
Krum
