IE 7

Talk about anything you like here: as long as it's technical, doesn't fit into the other categories and is within the rules. Questions and discussions about operating systems, programming, websites, hosting, ADSL etc. are particularly welcome here.

Yeah Firefox 1.5 is my browser of choice at the moment. Going to have a look at IE7 now.

hmmm, IE7 not bad. Noticed a couple of things in comparison to Firefox.
Text on pages seems smoothed/blurred on IE but crisp and hard edged in Firefox. Used www.bbc.com as a page for comparison. Layout of pages seems nearly, but not quite identical. Interface in IE will take a little getting used to but I think I like it....seems like they've "taken" the funtions of firefox and done a little bit of front end artwork.

Typical Microsoft I guess. Nice looking, but the behind the scene stuff lacks polish.

In Firefox, at first I didnt think I'd much like the dropdown bookmarks menu, but I've found in use it's easier tht opening a favourites windows, selecting the page, closing the window.

Think I'll be sticking with Firefox for a while at least.

Anyone tried admining a router from IE7 yet?

Taken it off my PC, I was having problems with Ebay, so I took it off to rule it out. Wasn't that in the end though

Not that brave, I loaded it on the wifes work laptop.

It resides at home here all the time, but I keep it outside of my own network. Don't know how many security holes will show up in IE7 in the next few weeks, so not loading on my own PCs just yet.

What the hell, it's me who has to solve problems on it as the IT as work (school) is SOOOO poor. THey've got rid of three members of staff and asked if I might be interested...said they would be prepared to pay....wait for it....17k.

Wonder what Bill Gates is doing...for that sort of cash he might just drop Microsoft and come running!!

Bill Gates keenly observe what others produce and then reproduce it :)
