cb wrote:I can understand rationalising the dsp drivers to a low and high version, but was curious why for 1350A modems the high version is dsp71A instead of the dsp72A from RT 2.92.
Because dsp71A has proved more robust than dsp72A.
cb wrote:Also, has something changed in the way chksync works - I had the "1 20" setting and saw a message in the log every 20mins with RT 2.92, but see nothing in RT 2.93 logs. Is it somehow not running now or just not logging?
Not logging. The culprit is the double ">/dev/null 2>&1" in the cron file.

Problem Solved... I tried to upgrade with RouterRepairTool_1.0.7 in the hard way... ended with "dead" router - problem was that I use Windows 7. On XP first upgraded with: DarkWolf - 2.92+tiupgrade, and then to ver. 2.93. Success! Thanks!

updated D-Link DSL-500T
from
DLink-500T_V.1.0.02.RU.18012007_MC_AnnexA_DSP62.img
thru
DSL-500T_Dlink_3.02B01T01.RU_20071212_Firmware.bin
then
RouterTech_AR7RD_Adam2_1porta_2.91.1_20090922_Firmware_4Mb.bin
and then thru web interface to
RouterTech_3.6.0D_20100408_2.93_AR7RD-1Port_Adam2-4mb-flash_firmware.upgrade.img

in first few hours seems much better than McMCC which I used for quite some years

Thanks guys! Good job! Keep up the good work!

P.S. Is "Adam2_Release 0.22.02_b03_Mar 10 2005" the last one for AR7RD (1-port) or I can update it to some newer/better version ?

I upgraded and working good on my Inca IM-204W.
Thanks for release.

I have a question in my mind. Reconfiguring modem is really head ache for me specially for QoS settings.
Could we have a configuration importer for next time?

I upgraded my DSL-G624T to 2.93 and i seems very OK! :D

I just have a small problem:
although I set up a the ENV variable "mac_ap" ("mac_ap 00:19:........."), the System Diagnostic tell me:
System Log
Apr 8 09:32:11 | Error getting mac from BootLoader enviroment for wlan0
Apr 8 09:32:11 | Using default mac address: 00.50.F1.12.12.10
Apr 8 09:32:11 | Use BootLoader command:
Apr 8 09:32:11 | setenv mac_ap xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx
Apr 8 09:32:11 | to set mac address

Where I'm wrong?

Thanks very much!!

P.S.: is there a way to reload my settings from previous release when I upgrade the firmware? It's so boring to retype all my settings! ;)

I'm sure that someone could write one - but it won't be an easy task.

Have you checked the env to ensure that the setting is actually there? If so, and if wireless works, then I wouldn't worry about it.

There was a config fixer for the earlier RT firmwares - but I don't know whether it will work correctly for recent firmwares. AFAIK, it has not been updated.

Thanks for your answer. Actually my ENV is:

Code: Select all

vcc_encaps6 0.0
vcc_encaps7 0.0
As you can see the "mac_ap" variable is present (even if censored! :D ).
I know that this isn't a real problem and that the wireless is ON and functioning, but maybe this is a possible bug. Pheraps someone can correct it in the next release.

Just now I notice that I have enabled cron and memchk.sh every 15 mins, but in the System Log I can't see any memory optimization. Tha tail of my log is:

Code: Select all

Apr 8 09:32:49 | PPPoE Connection Successfully Established
Apr 8 09:32:49 | Renew PPPoE Session ID: 0x9b86
Apr 8 09:32:49 | PPPoE Connect with Gateway IP Address: 192.168.100.1
Apr 17 20:17:48 | onconnectWAN: Starting crond.
 And now is 11PM o'clock
Anyway tonight I'll switch off the router and I'll switch on again tomorrow morning. This will be a very strong reset!!

Thanks again.
